SCHERTZ, TX — As the Texas Hill Country continues to grow, businesses and restaurants are flocking to meet the rising demand in the area. The latest to join this expansion is Chipotle Mexican Grill, which is set to open a new location in Schertz, a city just over 20 miles from San Antonio.
The new Chipotle will be located at 5498 Cibolo Valley Drive, Schertz, TX 78108, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The $700,000 restaurant is scheduled to begin construction in late spring 2025, with an estimated completion date of October 1, 2025. The 2,400-square-foot location is expected to be built in roughly four months, providing a quick turnaround once work begins.
While the specific details of the construction remain unclear, the new restaurant will feature Chipotle’s signature menu of customizable burritos and bowls, with a variety of proteins such as steak and chicken, along with a range of toppings. Prices for burritos and bowls typically start just under $12.
Schertz will join the nearby cities of Selma, Cibolo, and Universal City, which already have Chipotle locations. With this new addition, the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City area will soon form a “Chipotle Bowl” around San Antonio, offering greater convenience to local residents.
The new Chipotle is part of the ongoing growth in the region, as businesses continue to expand to meet the needs of the growing population.
