Korean burger and chicken fast food chain Mom’s Touch is gearing up to open its inaugural directly managed store in Japan, located in Shibuya, Tokyo.
The Shibuya store, covering 418 square meters, is scheduled to open its doors on April 16. Positioned at a former McDonald’s location, it will boast a seating capacity for up to 200 patrons. Notably, it will be situated adjacent to Shibuya Scramble Square, a bustling area drawing a daily foot traffic of around 3 million people.
In a recent statement, the company expressed its belief that this venture marks a significant milestone for Mom’s Touch, propelling it towards becoming a global brand and embarking on robust international expansion efforts.
In line with its expansion strategy, Mom’s Touch has actively participated in the Tokyo Franchise Show, aiming to further extend its reach globally and introduce its Korean burger offerings to Japan, a country with a burger market valued at approximately US$5.3 billion.
Last October, the company debuted a pop-up store in Shibuya, attracting a noteworthy 33,000 visitors. As of February, Mom’s Touch boasts a network of 1,420 stores in its domestic market.
This expansion into Japan follows the chain’s successful entry into Mongolia last year.
