Taco Bell, the American fast food chain famous for its Mexican-inspired dishes, is set to debut in Serbia. The chain recently expanded into neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina, where it opened its first restaurant last month. The exclusive franchise for Taco Bell in Bosnia, along with several other regional countries, is held by the Sarajevo-based company Tastra Bell.
Earlier this year, Tastra Bell established a Serbian branch, based in the New Belgrade business district. According to sources familiar with the situation, plans are underway to open Taco Bell’s first restaurants in Serbia, with one likely to be located in the Belgrade Waterfront area.
Taco Bell’s arrival in Serbia was confirmed on the official Instagram account for the chain’s Bosnia division. When asked about the absence of a restaurant in Belgrade, the brand responded simply, “Soon.”
Further evidence of Taco Bell’s expansion into Serbia comes from the National Internet Domain Registry (RNIDS), which shows that the company registered the domain name tacobell.rs in March of this year.
Known for its tacos, burritos, and other Mexican-inspired fast food, Taco Bell is part of Yum! Brands, the parent company that also owns KFC and Pizza Hut. The chain operates in over 30 countries worldwide and is expected to bring its popular menu to a new audience in Serbia.
