Wendy’s is reportedly preparing to launch a new Frosty flavor that has sparked excitement and debate among fans. The fast-food chain is expected to introduce a Salted Caramel Frosty in November, replacing the current Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty, which was part of a promotional partnership with SpongeBob SquarePants.
The news comes from Mandatory, which cites Instagram food blogger Snackolator as the source of the announcement. The Salted Caramel Frosty is described as potentially one of Wendy’s more controversial desserts. While salted caramel has gained popularity, it is not universally loved. Additionally, this new flavor may mean the vanilla Frosty will be temporarily removed from the menu again after only two months.
If confirmed, the Salted Caramel Frosty will join the lineup of seasonal flavors offered by Wendy’s. In September, the chain reintroduced the Vanilla Frosty after a brief hiatus since March, during which they removed the Triple Berry variety to make way for it. The classic Chocolate Frosty remains a staple on the menu.
The Chocolate Frosty has been a signature item since Wendy’s first opened in 1969, with the Vanilla Frosty added in 2006.
The chain only introduced another new Frosty flavor in 2022—the Strawberry Frosty. Since then, Wendy’s has continued to roll out seasonal options such as the Orange Dreamsicle, Peppermint, and Pumpkin Spice Frosties.
However, each seasonal introduction typically leads to the removal of the Vanilla Frosty, leaving some fans frustrated.
While many are eager for the Salted Caramel Frosty, others express disappointment over the potential loss of their beloved vanilla flavor.
Some customers have taken to social media to voice their opinions, with mixed reactions about the new flavor and its timing.
As Wendy’s continues to innovate its menu, fans are left eagerly awaiting official confirmation and more details about this upcoming release.
