McDonald’s Offers Free Krispy Kreme Donuts for A Limited Time

McDonald’s is offering customers a chance to get a free Krispy Kreme donut for a limited time. This promotion marks the beginning of a broader partnership aimed at introducing Krispy Kreme products to more McDonald’s locations across the country.

In 2024, McDonald’s has engaged in several significant collaborations, including partnerships with popular video game brands like Genshin Impact and Pokémon. Recently, the fast-food chain also joined forces with influencer Kai Cenat to promote a new menu item. Earlier this year, McDonald’s announced plans to feature three types of Krispy Kreme donuts in various restaurants by the end of 2026. This new promotion celebrates that collaboration by offering customers a complimentary sweet treat.

Starting Tuesday, October 15, Krispy Kreme will supply three of its donut varieties daily to McDonald’s locations in Chicago, Illinois. To celebrate this launch, from October 10 to October 14, Krispy Kreme will give away free Original Glazed donuts to McDonald’s customers nationwide. To claim their free donut, customers need to visit their local Krispy Kreme and present a receipt from any McDonald’s purchase made during this promotional period. “Having Krispy Kreme donuts under the Golden Arches is golden for our fans,” said Josh Charlesworth, President and CEO of Krispy Kreme. He expressed excitement about this collaboration and the free donut offer.

Customers can use either paper or digital receipts but are limited to one donut per visit.

This free donut giveaway is part of a larger plan between Krispy Kreme and McDonald’s. The donut company intends to stock three flavors in 1,000 McDonald’s restaurants by the end of this year. While Chicago customers will be the first to enjoy this rollout, plans are in place to expand to 12,000 locations by the end of 2026. The flavors available will include Original Glazed, Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles, and Chocolate Iced Kreme-filled donuts.

Krispy Kreme has previously collaborated with major brands, launching limited-edition donuts tied to Xbox in the UK and Pokémon in South Korea. This partnership with McDonald’s aims to provide even more benefits for fans in the future.

While the free donut promotion excites many Krispy Kreme enthusiasts, not all of McDonald’s collaborations this year have been well-received. The partnership with Genshin Impact faced criticism due to issues with redeemable codes. However, collaborations with Kai Cenat and Krispy Kreme could help boost McDonald’s popularity during this time.
