Wendy’s Celebrates 25 Years of Spongebob Squarepants with Special Menu Items

by Nick

Wendy’s is joining the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Spongebob Squarepants by introducing two special menu items: the Krabby Patty Kollab Burger and the Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty. This partnership adds a new twist to the beloved Krabby Patty, which is famously linked to the show’s characters, Mr. Krabs and Spongebob.

From October 8, fans of the animated series can enjoy the Krabby Patty Kollab Burger at Wendy’s locations across the country. This burger features a quarter pound of beef, two slices of American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion, and the “top-secret Krabby Kollab” sauce, all nestled between a toasted premium bun. It will be served alongside the Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty.

Lindsay Radkoski, U.S. Chief Marketing Officer for The Wendy’s Company, commented on the collaboration, stating, “In a world of people cutting corners, Wendy’s is known for quality in everything we do – from our fresh, famous food to collaborations with brands that our fans love.” She expressed excitement about uniting two iconic figures from pop culture to offer a unique experience for customers.

Starting October 8, customers can order the new items in-store or through the Wendy’s mobile app. However, those in Los Angeles will get an exclusive preview on October 7 with an “immersive” drive-thru experience at the Panorama City location.

This limited-time offering comes at a strategic moment for Wendy’s as it competes with other fast-food chains for customers’ attention amid rising inflation. Recently, major brands like Wendy’s, McDonald’s, Starbucks, and Sonic have been introducing value meals and special promotions to boost sales. Wendy’s has focused on its Frosty deals, previously offering the popular treat for just $1 and showcasing how customers enjoy it with fries or spoons. The chain has also introduced various affordable options, such as a $5 Biggie Bag, a $3 breakfast combo, and a discounted Honey Buddy.

In a recent move to stand out, Wendy’s collaborated with McBroken.com, a website tracking broken ice cream machines at McDonald’s locations. The partnership allows customers to find nearby Wendy’s stores as a reliable alternative for dessert when McDonald’s ice cream machines are out of service.

With the launch of the Krabby Patty Kollab Burger and Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty, Wendy’s aims to attract Spongebob fans while solidifying its place in the competitive fast-food landscape.
