The highly anticipated opening of the Mexican-inspired restaurant Taco Bell in Burnley’s Pioneer Place took place yesterday, attracting a large and eager crowd. The Mayor of Burnley, Coun. Shah Hussain, and newly elected MP Oliver Ryan presided over the ribbon-cutting ceremony and festivities, marking a significant milestone for the area.
As the first Taco Bell to open in East Lancashire and only the second in the county, the event generated considerable excitement among locals.
Known for its popular menu items such as burritos, tacos, and quesadillas, Taco Bell’s arrival completes the lineup of major names at Pioneer Place, including Starbucks, Icaro Lounge, Nando’s, and Heavenly Desserts.
The restaurant is operated by Soul Foods Group, which manages 381 establishments across the UK and Canada. The opening was graced by special guests from Pendleside Hospice, Taco Bell Burnley’s chosen charity. In a show of community involvement, the restaurant’s staff have participated in volunteer days at the hospice. Additionally, the menu caters to diverse dietary preferences, offering halal meat and vegetarian options.
Debbie Hernon, the Centre Manager of Charter Walk Shopping Centre, expressed her enthusiasm for the opening, stating, “It’s a very exciting opening for Charter Walk and the rest of Burnley. It’s a fantastic addition to the centre and I already know it will prove very popular with our shoppers.”
