Taco Bell, the beloved fast-food chain, has created a unique new experience for its loyal customers this summer. The Cantinas, a first-of-its-kind pop-up experience, caters to those who are old at heart and ready to live out their early retirement dreams.
The Cantinas, located in Southern California, hosted 250 of Taco Bell’s loyal Rewards Members from 20 states. The event was designed to celebrate the “Live Más” spirit as faux early retirees. The entire hotel and country club were outfitted with Taco Bell-themed decor, offering a range of cross-generational recreation activities.
Some of the activities included early morning tee times, friendship bracelet making, and shopping for hand-selected thrifted attire and accessories at The Cantinas shop. Taco Bell tapped into the cross-generational appeal of its core customers, who share a mutual affection for nostalgic menu items and merchandise alike.
The event also leaned into the Gen Z-backed idea of “wanting to turn in versus turn up” with events hosted by the TikTok sensations of Retirement House. Tom and Anne Rowley, a Taco Bell-loving couple from Salt Lake City, secured their spot through the app within three minutes of the launch to partake in the food-filled experience.
“Everyone here has been so nice and so kind to each other,” said Anne Rowley, a communications manager. “There are still some things that we can come together on — even if it’s as silly as an early retirement Taco Bell event.”
The Cantinas pop-up experience showcases Taco Bell’s commitment to creating unique and engaging experiences for its customers. By tapping into the nostalgia and community spirit of its brand, Taco Bell has successfully brought together fans of all ages to celebrate the joys of early retirement and the love for their favorite fast-food chain.
