Customer Finds Mold on Burger King Burger, Company Promises Swift Action

A recent incident involving a moldy burger from Burger King has sparked concern, leading both the restaurant and food delivery service Zomato to promise swift action. The customer, Yaman Dev Sharma, shared his experience on social media, expressing shock after discovering mold on his burger bun.

Sharma recounted that he had ordered the burger through Zomato and initially enjoyed his fries. However, upon opening the Veg Whopper, he was surprised to find mold covering the bread. Taking to platform X (formerly Twitter), he posted, “Ordered from Burger King via Zomato. After finishing the fries, I opened the burger and discovered a new flavor: mold comes free with the burger bread.” Along with this statement, he shared pictures of the moldy item.

Both Zomato and Burger King quickly responded to Sharma’s complaint. Zomato’s customer support account, Zomato Cares, expressed regret over the incident, stating, “This is very shocking. We are sorry you had to experience this. We will investigate, and a team member will contact you shortly. Please DM us your registered contact number.”

Later, Zomato provided a follow-up response, assuring Sharma that the issue had been addressed. “Hello Yaman, we have resolved your issue via email. We apologize that your experience was not smooth. We are committed to improving our service. If you need further assistance, please let us know,” the company said in an email.

Burger King also reached out, asking Sharma for more information about the order, and reassured him that they would look into the matter.

Sharma’s post quickly garnered reactions from other users, some of whom suggested further action. One individual recommended filing a formal complaint with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), commenting, “File a complaint through the FSSAI website or app. They take action, so do your part. We must all contribute to ensuring restaurants meet food quality standards.”

Others expressed frustration with the situation, questioning how the mold could have been missed. “They take utmost care in preparing the burger; how did no one notice the mold? Are you sure this is freshly bitten?” one user asked. Another commenter, Shabad Khan, directly criticized the fast-food chain, saying, “Shame on you, Burger King, for playing with people’s health.”

The incident highlights growing concerns over food safety, and both Burger King and Zomato have promised to investigate the matter thoroughly to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
