McDonald’s Australia has unveiled an exciting update to its Happy Meal menu, featuring collectible toys from the popular game Mario Kart. The promotion began on September 5 and will be available for a limited time at locations nationwide.
Customers purchasing a Happy Meal will receive one of ten collectible figurines, which include characters such as Luigi, Toad, Yoshi, Peach, Donkey Kong, and a rare gold Mario. Happy Meals start at $5.75 and come in a specially designed box that serves as a garage for the toys.
Sydney food enthusiast Adrian Widjy expressed his excitement in a video, showcasing his new collectibles. “I can’t believe I got the gold Mario Kart! I really wanted this,” he said, adding that the box is “super adorable.”
In addition to the Mario Kart promotion, McDonald’s Australia recently launched a unique winter offering for chicken nugget fans. Starting July 17, customers could get limited-edition McDonald’s ‘Nuggies’ ugg boots through the ‘BootPursuit’ giveaway. These cozy boots feature a nugget design and aim to keep feet warm during the colder months.
Liz Whitbread, senior brand manager for McDonald’s Australia, commented on the popularity of chicken nugget shapes.
“There exists a great debate about the best Chicken McNugget shape – the bone, bell, ball, or boot? We’re celebrating the boot-shaped Chicken McNugget by bringing back one of our most sought-after merchandise collections,” she stated, highlighting the increased availability of the popular Nuggies.
