KFC Australia has reintroduced the Popcorn Chicken Slab after a two-year break, just in time for the national Footy Finals.
This popular menu item, first launched in 2020, is available in KFC stores nationwide until 30 September 2024.
The Popcorn Chicken Slab features six pull-apart dinner rolls filled with KFC’s signature Popcorn Chicken, topped with cheese and BBQ sauce. Customers can enjoy it as a stand-alone option or as part of a combo meal for one or two people, which includes fries and a drink. For those with a bigger appetite, The Slab Feast is also available, offering a larger meal with Original Recipe chicken, Chicken Tenders, fries, and a side of sauce.
Tami Cunningham, KFC Australia’s Chief Marketing Officer, expressed excitement about the relaunch, saying, “We’ve been overwhelmed with requests from fans to bring this favorite back. We’re thrilled to announce that The Slab is available nationwide for the first time since 2022, just in time for the Footy Finals. This fan favorite is perfect for sharing with friends or family, but get in quick, because it won’t be around forever.”
In addition to the Popcorn Chicken Slab, KFC Australia also made headlines in May 2024 with the introduction of a crispier version of its original burger series. This crispy burger series is now a permanent addition to the menu, featuring options like The Original Crispy, the Original Crispy Cheese and Bacon, and the Original Crispy Stacker, all served with mayonnaise on the brand’s signature chicken fillet.
