NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) – Excitement is building at the former Pizza Hut site on South Jeffers Street, where preparations are underway for a new Chick-fil-A restaurant. Although there has been no official announcement, the ongoing construction and signage indicate that the popular fast-food chain is coming to North Platte.
Morris Excavating, based in Council Bluffs, Iowa, began demolishing the old Pizza Hut building two weeks ago. Once completed, the North Platte location will be the only Chick-fil-A between Kearney, Nebraska, and Denver, Colorado.
In May, Chick-fil-A also announced plans for a location in Grand Island, though an opening date for that site has not yet been set. The North Platte Chick-fil-A is expected to open later this year.
