Pizza Hut Japan is celebrating the upcoming harvest moon with the release of two special moon-viewing pizzas for the 2025 season. The pizzas, available in medium and large sizes, feature egg as the star ingredient, with the yolk resembling the full moon. The company is also offering a unique “shadow picture box” with select pizzas, which is being touted as an industry first.
Tsukimi Mayochiki
This pizza is topped with two melty double-boiled eggs and cheese, along with flame-grilled teriyaki chicken and a rich mayonnaise sauce, creating a delicious and indulgent flavor.
Tsukimi Bulgogi
The melty soft-boiled eggs and cheese are given a spicy kick with the addition of bulgogi beef, gochujang (a red chili paste), and mayonnaise.
Solo diners can enjoy the Tsukimi pizzas in “My Box” versions, priced at 1,090 yen for takeout or 1,400 yen for delivery.
Shadow Picture Box
Customers who order a medium-sized Tsukimi pizza will receive a special “Shadow Picture Box” in limited quantities. This innovative box allows customers to use the light from their smartphone to create a shadow of a rabbit on the moon, a common association in Japanese culture.
The Tsukimi pizzas will be available for a limited time from August 26 to October 14, 2025
