McDonald’s is experimenting with a new burger that some believe might achieve the same iconic status as the Big Mac.

The fast-food giant is reportedly in the early stages of introducing the “Big Arch” in select U.S. locations, which has sparked excitement among fans who often miss out on international menu releases.

So, what’s generating all the buzz? According to food blog Snackolator, the Big Arch could be the next big thing. McDonald’s insiders suggest that the new burger “could be as iconic as the Big Mac,” as mentioned in a post shared on Instagram on August 24. The burger is currently being tested in three markets: Canada, Portugal, and a third undisclosed location.

McDonald’s plans to assess the success of these tests before potentially rolling it out in the U.S. and other regions, Snackolator explained.

The Big Arch is described as being larger than the traditional Big Mac. It features two beef patties, three slices of white cheddar cheese, a tangy sauce, and a mix of fresh and crispy onions, all served on a brioche bun.

While the Big Arch is still in its testing phase, there is no confirmed date for its U.S. release. However, many commenters on Snackolator’s post expressed their eagerness to try the new burger once it becomes available.

“I’m looking forward to it,” one fan commented, while another declared, “I will eat that!”

Several Instagram users also expressed their excitement about the possibility of the Big Arch coming to the U.S. after its trial phase.

“I’d love for it to come to the U.S.! It would be so cool,” one person wrote.

“Yes please! We never get any of the good stuff ,” another fan noted.

Despite the enthusiasm, some customers remain skeptical about whether the Big Arch could ever match the iconic status of the Big Mac.

“Big Mac was still better,” one person commented.

Another customer who had tried the Big Arch in Portugal said, “Had it in Portugal. Still prefer the Big Mac .”
