For the first time in two years, KFC has introduced a new dessert to its menu. Starting August 6, Australian KFC locations will offer Kentucky Fried Cookie Dough.
This new treat features chocolate chip cookie dough encased in a golden, deep-fried coating. Customers can buy three pieces for $2.95, six pieces for $5.95, or as part of the Complete Treat box. The Complete Treat box includes a Zinger burger, three Wicked Wings, three pieces of Fried Cookie Dough, chips, potato and gravy, and a drink.
“We always aim to delight our fans with new and exciting flavors,” said Tami Cunningham, KFC Australia’s chief marketing officer. “We’re thrilled to introduce this delicious treat for those with a sweet tooth to enjoy after their KFC meal.”
The Kentucky Fried Cookie Dough will only be available until September 2. This is the first new dessert addition since 2022 when KFC replaced its chocolate mousse with Double Chocolate Mousse. Fans are excited about the new sweet treat.
In related news, KFC is testing a new drive-through feature in Sydney. Five outlets are using artificial intelligence (AI) to take orders at drive-through booths. This trial aims to improve the restaurant experience for both customers and team members. However, drivers can still request a team member to take their order at the participating locations: South Penrith, Wetherill Park, Mt Druitt, Minto, and Frenchs Forest.
“The new technology allows more time for team members to prepare food and enhance the customer experience,” said a spokesperson for KFC Australia. “Importantly, this trial isn’t replacing any jobs. Customers can always choose to speak to a team member at the drive-through.”
Reactions to the AI drive-through have been mixed. Some people question the necessity of this new technology, while others are curious to see how it will impact their dining experience.
