McDonald's Closes 30%

McDonald’s has shut down around 30 percent of its outlets across Japan because of a cash register glitch, the company’s Japanese unit announced on Friday.

The company is currently investigating the cause of the problem. It is unclear when normal services will resume.

The closures also led some stores to halt mobile orders through the McDonald’s app, potentially due to the same system issue.

This disruption comes after a major service outage in March that affected McDonald’s outlets in Japan and other countries.

During that incident, customers couldn’t complete cashless transactions or place mobile orders.
