Burger King” href=”https://www.bestfastfoodfranchise.com/archives/tag/burger-king” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener” data-wpil-keyword-link=”linked”>Burger King has a history of spicing up its menu with items like the Mexican Original Chicken Sandwich, the Spicy Ch’King sandwich, and the Fiery Big Fish Sandwich. In line with this trend, the fast food chain has introduced a new Fiery menu, featuring five items that purportedly escalate in spiciness.
The new Fiery menu includes: Fiery Strawberry & Sprite, Fiery Mozzarella Fries, Fiery Bacon Whopper, Fiery Chicken Fries, and Fiery Royal Crispy Chicken Sandwich. As someone who doesn’t crave spicy food, I took on the task of reviewing these items to see how hot they truly are.
The Standout Fiery Menu Item
Unexpectedly, the most fiery item on the menu is the drink. The Fiery Strawberry & Sprite is refreshing with its sweet strawberry flavor, but it delivers a surprising kick that lingers in the throat. It’s akin to classic Sprite with a spicy twist, reminiscent of the mild heat in the early stages of “Hot Ones.”
The drink contains a spicy strawberry puree, though Burger King doesn’t specify the exact ingredients. Despite its burn, this is one fiery item that I’d like to see stay on the menu beyond its limited-time offer.
Tasting Burger King’s Fiery Menu
Burger King lists the spicy Sprite as the least spicy item, but their scale seems off. The Fiery Mozzarella Fries, supposed to be spicier, only add a bit of savoriness with their Fiery Calabrian pepper breading. However, the cheese is perfectly melty, and the fries are crispy.
The Fiery Bacon Whopper doesn’t offer much if you’ve had a Whopper before. The bacon feels unnecessary, and the creamy Fiery sauce tastes more sweet than spicy. Simply adding “fiery” to a sandwich with pepper jack cheese and sauce doesn’t make it truly spicy.
Spice becomes noticeable with the poultry items. The Fiery Chicken Fries and Royal Crispy Chicken Sandwich both have enough fiery seasoning to leave a lasting heat. The Fiery Chicken Fries come with a Ranch dipping cup, giving a buffalo wing experience without the bones. The Royal Crispy Chicken Sandwich benefits from the creamy fiery sauce and fiery glaze, enhancing its flavor rather than detracting from it.
Overall, Burger King’s new Fiery menu delivers a mix of flavors and heat, but only a few items truly live up to their spicy promise.
