Pell City, AL – Starting today, fans of the classic American hamburger have a new spot to satisfy their cravings with the opening of Whataburger’s newest franchise. Located in the Pell City Square Shopping Center at 2405 Dr. John Haynes Drive, this new Whataburger promises to deliver the iconic made-to-order burgers that have been a tradition since the chain’s inception in the 1950s.
Initially, the restaurant will offer drive-thru service only on its opening day, with plans to open the dining room at a later date. Whataburger, founded by Harmon Dobson in Texas, started with a vision of serving burgers big enough to require two hands, with customers exclaiming, “What a burger!” This tradition continues with an extensive menu featuring various burger options such as the classic Whataburger, double burgers, and specialties like jalapeno and cheese, bacon and cheese, and avocado and bacon burgers.
In addition to burgers, Whataburger offers a range of chicken sandwiches, breakfast items including biscuits, cinnamon rolls, pancakes, and a variety of sides, salads, desserts, and beverages.
Following the initial launch, Whataburger plans to open its doors for dine-in service, employing 85 local “family members” to serve customers. The restaurant will operate 24/7, except on Christmas Day, offering breakfast from 11 p.m. to 11 a.m.
Whataburger, known for its commitment to cultural excellence, has been recognized as a Top Workplace and among QSR Magazine’s ‘Best Brands to Work For’.
Whataburger’s Pell City location, spanning more than 1,000 locations across 16 states, aims to bring bold, fresh flavors to Alabama, with plans to introduce additional service options including mobile ordering through the Whataburger App and Whataburger.com for pickup and delivery in the coming weeks.
