Jack in the Box, a beloved fast-food chain, is set to make a comeback in the Chicago area starting in 2025. The expansion initiative includes the opening of eight company-owned restaurants, with potential plans for up to 125 more across the region, spanning from Northwest Indiana to southeast Wisconsin. This marks the brand’s return to Chicago after a hiatus of four decades.
CEO Darin Harris expressed enthusiasm about the strategic move, stating, “This strategic expansion into Chicago allows us to not only meet long-standing customer demand for our brand, but also to establish ourselves as a significant player in the region’s vibrant restaurant industry.” Harris added, “We’re excited to introduce our unique menu where customers can order any item at any time – day or night, and we’re confident Jack in the Box will quickly become a favorite local destination.”
The initial wave of Jack in the Box locations in the Chicago area is scheduled to open between 2025 and 2026. These establishments will be situated in both the city and suburbs, including Chicago, Countryside, Tinley Park, New Lenox, Plainfield, Naperville, Carol Stream, and Lake in the Hills.
Each of the new locations will offer dine-in, drive-thru, and mobile ordering options, operating 24 hours a day. They will feature the chain’s renowned late-night “24/7 cravable menu,” along with popular items such as burgers, tacos, chicken sandwiches, milkshakes, and breakfast fare.
Alongside its return to Chicago, Jack in the Box is expanding into other new markets across the United States and Mexico, including Utah, Kentucky, Arkansas, Montana, Wyoming, Michigan, Florida, and Georgia.
This move signifies Jack in the Box’s commitment to growth and its strategy to meet consumer demand in diverse markets while reintroducing its distinctive offerings to loyal fans and new customers alike.
