McDonald’s Japan is embracing the summer with a new addition to its menu that’s set to delight fans of mint chocolate.
Known as “Choco Minto” in Japan, this seasonal flavor takes center stage each summer, offering a refreshing respite from the heat and humidity.
For a limited time starting July 3rd, McDonald’s will feature the Mint Chocolate Oreo Frappe, a delectable blend of mint and bittersweet Oreo cookies. This cooling beverage promises a gentle sweetness and a refreshing aftertaste, complemented by its appealing mint-green color and topped with colorful mint-flavored candy and chocolate sauce on whipped cream.
Accompanying the frappe is the return of the Green Apple Macaron, known for its aromatic apple flavor with hints of cinnamon. This pairing is expected to offer a creamy and refreshing taste experience for McDonald’s customers in Japan.
Originally available exclusively at McCafé by Barista outlets, the Mint Chocolate Oreo Frappe has proven so popular that it will now be offered at McDonald’s locations nationwide.
To promote these new offerings, McDonald’s has enlisted McCafe ambassadors Suzu Hirose and Tomohisa Yamashita, who are featured in the advertising campaign dubbed the Choc Mint Rally. The campaign emphasizes the frappe’s “refreshing” and “cute” qualities, aiming to entice customers to indulge in this limited-time treat.
The Mint Chocolate Oreo Frappe will be priced at 490 yen (approximately US$3.04), while the Green Apple Macaron will retail for 190 yen. Both items will be available until the end of July, or while supplies last, so fans of the Choco Minto flavor are encouraged to visit McDonald’s soon to enjoy these seasonal offerings.
