Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora had previously issued a directive in February instructing district and unit heads to ensure that crime-related CCTV footage remains confidential. Despite this, it was discovered that the two officers had shared the footage with personnel from other units to aid in the investigation process.

A senior police officer has confirmed that an inquiry into the leak has been initiated. Sources indicate that the CCTV footage was initially intended for internal use to assist in the investigation but was unfortunately leaked to the public. This incident has raised concerns regarding procedural shortcomings within the police department related to the handling of sensitive evidence.
