In Georgetown County, South Carolina, a 17-year-old employee working at both McDonald’s and Dairy Queen outlets on Pawleys Island has been apprehended by the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office. The arrest is in connection with alleged financial transaction card fraud, as stated by law enforcement authorities.
The juvenile stands accused of capturing credit card numbers of customers at McDonald’s and Dairy Queen through the drive-through window. These numbers were then purportedly used for unauthorized purchases, according to the report from the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office.
Among the illicit transactions was a charge made at a children’s clothing store located in England. Additionally, the juvenile is said to have attempted a purchase at Domino’s Pizza on Pawleys Island, according to law enforcement officials.
The suspicions surrounding the fraudulent activities were raised when authorities received information about the attempted transaction at Domino’s Pizza. Subsequently, a thorough investigation was launched, involving the review of restaurant surveillance footage, examination of the suspect’s phone, and analysis of other pieces of evidence by the detective handling the case.
