Arby’s Hollywood location bid farewell after serving customers for 55 years. The closure was marked by a message on the iconic cowboy hat sign that now reads “Farewell Hollywood TY for 55 great years.”
The shutdown occurred at the Sunset Blvd. location near Bronson Ave., as reported by LA Magazine. This closure adds to the restaurant’s history, known for its popular roast beef sandwiches and boasting over 3,500 restaurants across nine countries.
It remains uncertain if other Arby’s locations will follow suit.
This move reflects a broader trend of businesses departing California. Earlier in June, Rubio’s Coastal Grill announced the closure of 48 California restaurants, with 24 of them in the Los Angeles area. Owners cited the increasing cost of doing business in the Golden State, notably following a minimum wage hike for fast-food workers from $15.50 to $20 per hour.
Consequently, several fast-food chains, including McDonald’s, Chipotle, and In-N-Out, raised prices to offset rising labor costs, while some businesses scaled back hiring.
