An online survey conducted by Jeff Bet, utilizing data from National Restaurant News and Tripadvisor, has shed light on the least favored fast-food restaurants in the nation. Contrary to popular perception, Burger King” data-wpil-keyword-link=”linked”>Burger King, kfc” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener” title=”KFC” data-wpil-keyword-link=”linked”>KFC, and McDonald’s ranked among the top three worst-rated chains according to this survey.
Jeff Bet’s methodology involved collecting restaurant reviews from Tripadvisor for the 250 largest restaurants in the US, as listed by NRN’s Top 500 2023. Each chain’s average rating across multiple locations was calculated to determine its overall standing.
KFC, despite its extensive presence across the US, emerged as the worst-rated fast-food chain in seventeen states, with an average review score of 2.204 in South Dakota. Burger King followed closely with an average score of 3.011, receiving substantial criticism nationwide, especially in Louisiana where it garnered an average score of 2.512. McDonald’s, a longstanding staple in American dining, faced mixed reviews and ranked as the second worst-rated chain in Alabama with an average score of 2.656.
The survey also highlighted other poorly rated fast-food chains such as Church’s Texas Chicken, Long John Silver’s, Taco Bueno, Krystal, Taco Bell” data-wpil-keyword-link=”linked”>Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and Hardees.
Jeff Bet’s analysis attributed these low scores to various quality-control issues including inconsistent food quality, cleanliness concerns, and poor customer service. While larger chains like McDonald’s and Burger King naturally receive a higher volume of reviews, certain establishments like Long John Silver’s, Krystal, and Church’s Texas Chicken struggle to meet consumer expectations consistently, leading to their unfavorable reputation in the fast-food industry.
