Jollibee, the beloved Filipino fast food chain, has announced a new collaboration with renowned toy designer Quiccs Maiquez. The collaboration features limited-edition TEQ63 figures, inspired by Quiccs’ unique blend of Japanese robots, hip-hop, and graffiti art.
The TEQ63 figures come in three sizes: 12-inch Megateq, 6-inch standard, and 3-inch Microteq. Each figure features a special design inspired by Jollibee’s iconic spaghetti and palabok boxes.
The figures will be available for purchase first at TOYCON 2024, which will be held from June 14th to 16th at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
A complete set of all three figures will cost P25,000, while the 6-inch and 3-inch figures can be purchased separately for P6,500 and P3,500 respectively. Only 150 complete sets will be available at TOYCON, and 100 pieces each of the smaller figures.
Quiccs assured fans that more figures will be available soon. “The rest will be coming very soon, like in one to two weeks,” he said. “We will do allocations, and if the physical stocks get sold out, we’ll deliver it for free for those who pre-order.”
This collaboration is part of Jollibee’s efforts to support Filipino talent.
Dorothy Dee-Ching, Jollibee’s vice president for marketing, said choosing Quiccs was an easy decision, given his impressive work.
“We’re very happy to be working with an amazing artist like Quiccs,” Dee-Ching said. “Collaborations like this allow us to shine a spotlight on Filipino talent and creativity that is making waves not just in our country but also around the world.”
Quiccs, who has been passionate about art since the age of five, expressed his excitement about the collaboration. “For Jollibee, one of the biggest Filipino icons, to invite us to collaborate is a very big honor for me,” he said. “Definitely a milestone.”
He also shared advice for aspiring artists: “Stick to your core, stick to your passions, and everything else will follow.”
