WNBA star joins forces with fast-food giant to launch new signature order.
Rising WNBA player Angel Reese has teamed up with McDonald’s to launch her own signature meal, becoming the first female athlete to do so in a national partnership with the fast-food brand.
Unveiled on Thursday, the collaboration introduces “The Angel Reese Special,” which features a BBQ bacon Quarter Pounder with cheese, topped with a new BBQ sauce, along with a side of fries and a drink. The meal will be available to customers beginning February 10.
McDonald’s, known for its long-standing ties to basketball, emphasized its commitment to the sport in a press release. The company highlighted its role in promoting young talent through the McDonald’s All-American Games, a showcase for top high school basketball players.
“McDonald’s has always played a role in my life,” said Reese. “I grew up grabbing McChicken Sandwiches and was named a McDonald’s All-American in 2020. Now, having my own meal is something I hope will inspire young athletes to chase their dreams.”
Reese, who currently plays for the Chicago Sky, is entering her second WNBA season. She was selected seventh overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft after a standout college career at LSU. Under coach Kim Mulkey, she helped lead the Tigers to a national championship in 2023.
