Wendy’s beloved Frosty is getting a major update this spring with the launch of six all-new flavors, including exciting collaborations with Oreo and Pop-Tarts.
The Frosty, a classic treat invented by Wendy’s founder Dave Thomas, has remained a staple on the menu since the first Wendy’s opened. Its signature blend of milkshake and soft-serve ice cream has made it a fan favorite for decades.
While seasonal Frosty flavors such as Strawberry, Pumpkin Spice, and Salted Caramel have been added over the years, loyal fans often expressed disappointment when their go-to Vanilla Frosty was temporarily replaced. Previously, only two flavors were available at a time, limiting the variety for Frosty lovers.
In February, Wendy’s broke tradition with a collaboration with the Girl Scouts, launching the Thin Mints Frosty. The limited-time flavor featured a cookie butter swirl inspired by Thin Mints, and customers could choose to add it to either Chocolate or Vanilla Frosty—offering four flavor options instead of just two.
Following the success of these limited-time Frosty offerings, Wendy’s is expanding its Frosty lineup even further. At its Investor Day event in March, the chain announced the introduction of Frosty Swirls and Frosty Fusions to the menu.
“We know Frosty is one of the most iconic items on our menu, and consumers are always looking for new flavors,” said Lindsay Radkoski, U.S. Chief Marketing Officer for The Wendy’s Company. “Our Frosty Swirls and Frosty Fusions will offer even more ways to enjoy this classic treat.”
New Frosty Offerings
The Frosty Swirls, available starting April 11 for Wendy’s app users and nationwide by April 15, will offer three new sauce options: Strawberry, Caramel, and Brownie Batter. Customers can choose to add these swirls to either a Chocolate or Vanilla Frosty for a custom flavor experience.
In addition to the Swirls, Wendy’s will launch the Frosty Fusions on May 12. These will feature the same sauce options as the Swirls, but with crunchy mix-ins like Pop-Tarts Strawberry Crunchy Poppers, classic Oreo cookies, and toffee pieces. The Frosty Fusions will include:
- Caramel Crunch flavor
- Pop-Tarts Strawberry Frosty Fusion
- Oreo Brownie Batter Frosty Fusion
The Frosty Fusions are designed to give customers an even more decadent dessert experience with an added crunch from the mix-ins.
Packaging And More Changes
Along with the new Frosty flavors, Wendy’s is introducing new packaging, including Frosty cups, lids, and custom blue spoons designed for the “perfect eating experience.” Radkoski highlighted that the new spoon design allows customers to enjoy every last bit of Frosty from the bottom of the cup.
Wendy’s also hinted at an exciting future collaboration with Takis, the popular spicy rolled tortilla chip brand, which will launch later this summer.
With these new additions, Wendy’s is making it clear that the Frosty is evolving into a versatile dessert that continues to surprise and delight fans.
