SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) — Chick-fil-A has unveiled plans to expand its presence in Massachusetts, announcing the addition of 12 to 15 new locations by the end of 2027. This expansion includes restaurants in both East Springfield and West Springfield.
The Springfield-area locations are part of a broader growth strategy that extends beyond the Greater Boston area. The company anticipates the new restaurants will create about 1,600 jobs across the state. Currently, Chick-fil-A operates 19 locations in Massachusetts, and these upcoming locations will be the brand’s first foray into western Massachusetts.
Although the exact opening dates for the new restaurants in the Springfield area are still to be determined, construction is slated to begin in 2025, with openings expected soon after.
The new restaurants will feature full-service dining, including drive-thru lanes, mobile ordering options, and in-restaurant service. Each location is expected to bring dozens of new job opportunities, both part-time and full-time.
Chick-fil-A has already made a positive impact in Massachusetts through initiatives like the Shared Table program, which donates surplus food from restaurants to local food banks and nonprofits. Since 2016, Massachusetts Chick-fil-A locations have donated over 150,000 meals to those in need.
To further support the community, Chick-fil-A will donate $25,000 to Feeding America for each new restaurant it opens.
This donation will directly benefit regional food banks, such as The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts and the Greater Boston Food Bank.
