Ace Pizza, the popular pop-up residency by Rachel Jones, is opening its first permanent pizzeria in Victoria Park. After making a name for herself at The Pembury Tavern, Jones is now bringing her unique take on pizza to a dedicated space just off the park.
Jones has created her own version of pizza, now known as “London-style Pizza.” This style combines the chew and char of Neapolitan dough with the foldability and structure of a classic New York slice. Inspired by trips to her aunt’s home in Italy, Jones first introduced her pizza at Capish? at KERB before settling with Ace Pizza.
The menu at Ace Pizza features 48-hour fermented dough and will include both classic and innovative options. Alongside the traditional Margherita, customers can look forward to exciting creations like:
Honey Pie: Fior di latte, spicy salami, fennel seeds, guindilla chillies, and chilli honey
Clapton Cowboy: A vegan pizza with plant-based Texas “beef,” jalapeños, pickled pink onions, and chipotle ranch drizzle
Vodka Marg: Vodka sauce, house-made pesto, Gran Moravia cheese (with optional pepperoni)
In addition to pizza, the menu will offer pizza sandwiches, slow-cooked Dexter beef meatballs in marinara sauce, and Caesar salad. For dessert, there will be rotating soft serve flavors with various toppings. Drinks will include Chilli Honey Margaritas, with beers supplied by Five Points Brewery.
The new pizzeria will take over the space previously occupied by Fish House on Lauriston Road. The interior design will blend 80s nostalgia with a mix of Mid-Century Modern and classic disco diner aesthetics. With its trendy menu and nostalgic vibe, Ace Pizza is expected to be a hit with both locals and park visitors alike.
