US-based burger chain Carl’s Jr. will launch its first UK restaurant in Cardiff on 3 April 2025. The new location, situated within the St David’s Dewi Sant shopping centre, will offer seating for 70 guests. This new outlet is expected to create 30 jobs in the area.
The menu at Carl’s Jr. Cardiff will feature a variety of offerings, including four classic burgers, three premium Angus beef burgers, chicken burgers, ice cream milkshakes, bottomless soft drinks, chicken tenders, brownies, and ice cream sundaes.
The brand plans to bring a West Coast vibe to its menu, tailored to British preferences.
The Cardiff opening marks the first phase of Carl’s Jr.’s expansion into the UK and Ireland. More locations are planned for major cities, including Birmingham, Manchester, and London, in 2025 and 2026.
David Moffat, Carl’s Jr. UK Country Manager, shared with Metro: “Carl’s Jr. is known for offering high-quality, crave-worthy food that stands out in the burger market. We are excited to open our first UK restaurant in Cardiff. The team at Boparan Restaurant Group has worked hard to bring the Carl’s Jr. experience to the UK, and we are looking forward to welcoming our first customers.”
Carl’s Jr. also operates in several European countries, including France, Spain, Denmark, and Switzerland. Founded in 1941 in Anaheim, California, the brand now operates 4,000 locations worldwide.
