McDonald’s has shocked customers with the announcement of a surprise menu drop for 2025, introducing a bold and divisive twist on its classic offerings. The fast-food giant will unveil its highly anticipated Easter menu on Wednesday, March 19, featuring the Hot Honey and Hot Cross Bun ranges, which are expected to stir mixed reactions.
The new menu will offer customers across Australia the chance to try items like the Hot Honey McSpicy, Hot Honey McCrispy, and a Hot Honey Sauce that can be paired with McNuggets. The McNuggets fanbase, which has strong preferences for dipping sauces, is particularly focused on this new addition.
Additionally, McDonald’s will offer a new $2 dessert option—a Hot Cross Bun-flavored pie—and a McFlurry made with crispy cinnamon pastry, spiced fruit mix, and a butter-flavored custard filling. These items are designed to give a sweet and spicy twist to McDonald’s traditional offerings.
“We’ve heard the demand for more chicken items, and we’re always exploring ways to expand our range to give our customers even more variety,” said Amanda Nakad, McDonald’s Australia’s Marketing Director of Menu and Brand. She added that the new Hot Honey range brings a balance of sweetness and spice that customers are sure to love, with a playful encouragement: “Embrace the drip.”
The Easter menu is not the only surprise from McDonald’s this week. In addition to the new food items, the brand is collaborating with premium streetwear brand Culture Kings to offer exclusive merchandise. Starting Wednesday, limited-edition Hot Honey T-shirts will be available in the Melbourne store and online.
The exclusive Culture Kings x McDonald’s Hot Honey T-shirt will be released at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, and can be customized with one of 100 embroidered patches, which customers can choose from: a Chicken McNugget, Hot Honey Sauce, Hot Honey Drip, “Embrace the DRIP” text, or a flame design.
“We all love a trip to Macca’s, and this collaboration is a fresh take on how street culture and food can come together. The Hot Honey Drip collection brings a spicy twist to the drip you love,” said Dan Hutcheon, Marketing Manager for Culture Kings.
