Krispy Kreme is ringing in the new year with an exciting collaboration, teaming up with Pop-Tarts to create a trio of limited-edition doughnuts. The Charlotte-based doughnut chain made the announcement on Monday, revealing the sweet partnership with the iconic breakfast brand.
Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme’s Chief Growth Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: “Krispy Kreme and Pop-Tarts are coming together for the very first time — you know the result will be Crazy Good. Krispy Kreme and Pop-Tarts fans will love kicking off the year with this delicious collaboration!”
The collaboration features three new doughnut creations, each inspired by the popular Pop-Tarts flavors. First up is the Pop-Tarts Frosted Strawberry Doughnut. This doughnut boasts an unglazed shell filled with strawberry filling, which is then dipped in shortbread icing and topped with an array of fun toppings, including shortbread pieces, sugar sprinkles, a strawberry filling drizzle, and a Frosted Strawberry Pop-Tarts Bites piece.
Next, the Pop-Tarts Frosted Chocolatey Fudge Doughnut features a classic Original Glazed doughnut base, coated with chocolate icing, and topped with brownie batter-flavored buttercreme. The doughnut is then finished with crushed Frosted Chocolatey Fudge Pop-Tarts Bites and white nonpareils for extra sweetness.
Lastly, the Pop-Tarts Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon Doughnut delivers a cinnamon sugar doughnut base topped with brown sugar cinnamon cream cheese-flavored buttercreme and a piece of Frosted Cinnamon Roll Pop-Tarts Bites for added crunch.
Jessica Waller, General Manager of Kellanova Away From Home, which oversees Pop-Tarts, spoke to the creative potential of the partnership: “Pop-Tarts aren’t just for the toaster — they can infuse culinary creativity to delight consumers. Krispy Kreme has done an incredible job bringing this opportunity to life, combining their iconic doughnuts with the beloved flavors of Pop-Tarts to create a truly one-of-a-kind experience.”
This collaboration is available for a limited time, and customers can find the new doughnuts in Krispy Kreme shops or order them through the Krispy Kreme app and website. They can be purchased individually or as part of a dozen. In addition, select retailers will offer Krispy Kreme 6-packs with Pop-Tarts-inspired doughnuts.
