American fast food giant Popeyes has recently posted job advertisements signaling its intention to open its first restaurant in Taiwan.
According to a listing on 104 Job Bank, Popeyes plans to establish its inaugural eatery in Taiwan during the second quarter of this year. The chosen location for the first restaurant is set to be in Taipei’s Zhongzheng District, while a business office will be established in Neihu District.
With its roots tracing back to its founding in New Orleans in 1972, Popeyes has since expanded its presence to over 3,700 restaurants across more than 30 countries and regions globally. Its widespread footprint includes markets such as the United States, Canada, China, South Korea, Singapore, France, and Germany, generating an annual revenue exceeding US$5 billion (NT$158 billion).

The brand has also experienced robust sales growth on a global scale, particularly in Asian markets where its performance has shown remarkable progress.
As part of its entry into the Taiwanese market, Popeyes has announced plans to offer its signature original and spicy fried chicken, alongside cajun fries, macaroni salad, and desserts. Additionally, Taiwanese customers can look forward to indulging in Popeyes’ renowned fried chicken sandwich, which gained widespread popularity following its initial launch in 2019.
