Santa Fe, Texas, welcomed its first Whataburger on December 3, marking a significant addition to the city’s dining options. The new restaurant is located at 4206 Warpath Avenue, conveniently situated near an H-E-B grocery store.
To celebrate the opening, Whataburger offered exciting promotions. The first customer in each drive-thru lane and the first diner in the restaurant received free Whataburger for a year. Additionally, the next 100 customers were gifted a Whataburger tote bag along with a custom Santa Fe sticker.
Jennifer Palmeri, the Operating Partner of the new location, expressed enthusiasm about introducing Whataburger’s “bold, fresh flavors” to the community. She will oversee a team of 100 local employees. The Santa Fe Whataburger will operate 24 hours a day, 364 days a year, closing only on Christmas Day.
The opening has been highly anticipated in Santa Fe, a city with approximately 13,000 residents. The location’s development faced initial challenges due to H-E-B’s concerns about the drive-thru layout. After redesigning the proposal, Whataburger received approval from H-E-B, paving the way for this new restaurant.
This opening aligns with a growing trend in Texas where Whataburger and H-E-B locations often coexist. Similar setups have been successful in other areas like Hutto and Lytle, where both brands enhance customer convenience.
As Whataburger continues to expand beyond Texas into states like North Carolina and Oklahoma, its partnership with H-E-B remains unique to Texas. This collaboration not only serves local tastes but also strengthens community ties through accessible dining options.
