ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Capital Region is about to welcome its first Chick-fil-A, with the new restaurant opening on Thursday. Located at 944 Central Avenue, the restaurant will offer dine-in, carryout, and drive-thru services from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Chick-fil-A confirmed in June that the new location would be built on the former Armory Garage site. The Albany Planning Board reviewed the plans for the restaurant in the fall of 2023.
Michael Gray has been chosen as the independent franchised owner-operator of this Chick-fil-A. He will oversee daily operations and manage around 120 full-time and part-time employees. The new building will span approximately 5,200 square feet and include two drive-thru lanes and an outdoor patio with seating. The construction cost is estimated at $750,000 and includes about 98 parking spaces.
In addition to this new location, Chick-fil-A already has restaurants in Clifton Park, North Greenbush, and Albany International Airport. A proposed location in Latham was announced in 2021 but has not yet moved forward.

For the community that has welcomed us so warmly, I hope to make my restaurant the most caring restaurant in the Capital Region, with our delicious food, unique career opportunities, and culture of care.”
The opening of this Chick-fil-A marks an exciting development for Albany residents, who can look forward to enjoying the brand’s popular menu items and community-oriented services.
