KFC is making headlines this holiday season with a unique product: lickable wrapping paper that tastes like chicken. This innovative item is part of KFC’s festive offerings, aiming to delight fans during the gift-giving season.
As various brands roll out exciting promotions for Christmas, KFC stands out with its limited-edition wrapping paper.
According to the product description, the paper is flavored to mimic KFC’s original recipe chicken, enhanced with a hint of cranberry sauce and a savory touch of sage and onion stuffing.
Phoebe Syms, brand manager for KFC UK and Ireland, stated, “Despite the festive battle, at KFC, we believe in chicken.
We’re introducing our first-ever lickable wrapping paper… inspired by our epic limited-edition Stuffing Stacker burger.” This burger features two original recipe fillets along with sage and onion stuffing, lettuce, cheese, and tangy cranberry sauce.
KFC has issued a warning about the wrapping paper: it has a protective cover over the lickable sections that must be removed before tasting. The company advises against licking any part of the paper that does not have this protective layer.
While the materials used are food-grade and non-toxic, the wrapping paper is not suitable for vegans or vegetarians.
Currently, this holiday collection is available exclusively on KFC’s UK and Ireland websites, leaving fans in the United States to rely on traditional wrapping options. The lickable wrapping paper was designed by emerging artist SOLDIER and has already garnered attention, though it was offered for free in stores until supplies ran out.
KFC’s creative approach follows a trend where brands experiment with unique flavors and scents. In the past, one brand even launched a fried chicken-scented perfume, showcasing the growing interest in unconventional food-related products.
