Wendy’s is embracing the fall season with new menu items, but reactions from customers are decidedly mixed. Some are enthusiastic about the changes, while others express strong disapproval.
Recently, Wendy’s announced the addition of a new Frosty flavor as it phases out the limited-edition Pineapple Under the Sea soft serve, which was introduced earlier this month as part of a SpongeBob SquarePants-themed meal. The new Salted Caramel Frosty has excited many fans, even though it means saying goodbye to the classic vanilla Frosty.
In addition to the Frosty, Wendy’s will introduce a Mushroom Bacon Cheeseburger at participating locations nationwide starting November 12. This limited-time offering features roasted mushrooms, crispy bacon, Muenster cheese, and creamy garlic spread on Wendy’s fresh, never-frozen beef. The burger aims to provide a unique comfort food experience.
However, the response to the Mushroom Bacon Cheeseburger has been mixed. Food blogger Snackolator shared the news on Instagram, prompting a variety of reactions. Some fans expressed excitement, with one calling the burger a “need.” Another customer said, “I’ve never had a Wendy’s burger before but this one sounds good,” while someone else reminisced about a similar burger they used to enjoy.
On the flip side, many were less enthusiastic. Comments ranged from outright disgust—”Eugh”—to humorous suggestions like removing the mushrooms altogether. Some voiced their strong dislike for mushrooms on burgers, stating that “nobody asks for mushrooms on their burgers.”
Despite the divided opinions, both the Salted Caramel Frosty and Mushroom Bacon Cheeseburger are set to launch on or around November 12 at participating Wendy’s locations across the U.S.
