Taco Bell is bringing back memories with the limited return of five beloved menu items from its first five decades. Starting today, customers can enjoy the ’60s Tostada, ’70s Green Sauce Burrito, ’80s Meximelt, and ’90s Gordita Supreme. The ’00s Caramel Apple Empanada will join the lineup on November 21. Each item is priced under $3. The ’60s Tostada is particularly special, as it was one of six original menu items available when Taco Bell opened its first walk-up location in Southern California in 1962.
Umami Cafe & Catering is shifting its focus towards catering services, resulting in reduced cafe hours. The cafe will now be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays with a limited menu. However, it will continue to offer grab-and-go items at its location in Signature Flight Support at 3501 N. Aviation Ave., north of the airport terminal. As the weather cools, family meals are also making a comeback, available for pickup on Fridays and Saturdays. Orders must be placed by 5 p.m. on Thursdays. This week’s menu includes goulash, chicken pot pie, and langostino lobster mac-and-cheese, typically priced between $30 and $35 for servings of four to six people. Rudy M. Navarrete’s Tex-Mexican Catering is hosting its seventh annual shoe drive for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire.
Navarrete will serve his Taco Bus menu at the first event and offer a taco bar for $10 at other locations. Proceeds and additional donations will go towards purchasing new sneakers for children in need.
Upcoming event dates include Saturday at The Blind Butcher Brewing Co. near Inwood, Iowa; November 9 at Windy City Bites; November 16 at Severance Brewing Co.; November 22 at the VFW in Brandon; and November 23 at the Masonic Center, 520 S. First Ave., from 5 to 8 p.m.
Since the fundraiser began, more than 1,000 pairs of brand-name shoes have been donated.

Although we couldn’t announce the winners of Oh My Cupcakes’ annual Halloween contest in time for purchases, we want to recognize Kensi and Everly for their winning designs of cute pumpkin and mummy cupcakes. Each winner received a dozen cupcakes featuring their creations.
Changes in Hours And Services
Falls Landing Bar & Grill in the Country Inn & Suites downtown is temporarily closed due to a change in management, as noted on the restaurant’s door and Facebook page.
Severance Brewing Co.’s winter hours begin Friday: Tuesday through Thursday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from noon to 11 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
The Taco Vault in Worthing has updated its hours since opening on October 15; it will now be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
With the Falls Park Farmers Market season concluded, Songbird Kombucha has returned to its regular store hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
