Starbucks is making a significant change for its customers by eliminating the extra charge for non-dairy milk starting November 7.
This announcement coincides with the launch of the company’s holiday menu in U.S. and Canada stores.
Beginning on this date, customers at company-owned Starbucks locations will no longer pay extra for customizing their beverages with non-dairy options, including soy milk, oat milk, almond milk, and coconut milk.
“Core to the Starbucks Experience is the ability to customize your beverage to make it yours,” said Brian Niccol, Starbucks chairman and CEO. “By removing the extra charge for non-dairy milks, we’re embracing all the ways our customers enjoy their Starbucks.”
Substituting non-dairy milk is the second most popular customization among Starbucks customers, following the addition of an espresso shot. With this change, nearly half of Starbucks customers who modify their drinks will see a price reduction of more than 10%.
Niccol emphasized the company’s commitment to enhancing customer experiences: “I made a commitment that we’d get back to Starbucks, focusing on what has always set Starbucks apart – a welcoming coffeehouse where people gather and we serve the finest coffee handcrafted by our skilled baristas. This is just one of many changes we’ll make to ensure a visit to Starbucks is worth it every time.”
As part of the holiday launch on November 7, Starbucks will also unveil its new seasonal menu, which includes eight drinks and six food items.
Among the anticipated beverages are two new offerings: the Cran-Merry Orange Refresher and Salted Pecan Cold Brew.
Returning favorites include the Peppermint Mocha and Iced Gingerbread Oatmilk Chai.
This move reflects Starbucks’ ongoing efforts to cater to diverse dietary preferences while enhancing customer satisfaction during the busy holiday season.
