Chick-fil-A has officially opened its first location in a Chicago airport at O’Hare International Airport’s Terminal 5. The announcement came from the Chicago Department of Aviation on Wednesday, highlighting the new addition alongside other eateries such as Protein Bar and a combined Dunkin’/Baskin-Robbins.
Located near Gate M10, the Chick-fil-A will serve its popular chicken tenders, sandwiches, fries, and more from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Protein Bar, situated near Gate M16, operates daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., offering a menu that includes breakfast items, bowls, salads, wraps, and protein shakes. The Dunkin’/Baskin-Robbins outlet in the lower-level baggage claim area is open 24 hours, providing coffee, doughnuts, breakfast sandwiches, and ice cream.
Marc Brooks, president and CEO of Hyde Park Hospitality, expressed his excitement about bringing the first Chick-fil-A to a Chicago airport. “As a native of Chicago, I’m extremely excited to bring the first Chick-fil-A to a Chicago airport that is also 100 percent minority-owned and operated,” he stated.
The new concessions are part of a broader expansion at O’Hare. More than 100 additional food and retail options are currently up for bid. Future openings in Terminal 5 include local favorites such as Lincoln Park’s Butcher and the Burger, The Dearborn in the Loop, and Bronzeville Bar and Bites.
In addition to dining options, travelers can explore Gallery ORD, a luxury shop selling designer sunglasses and apparel from brands like Chanel and Gucci. This shop is open daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., located near Gates M14 and M16.
O’Hare’s Terminal 5 now features a total of 38 concessions with plans for more to come as part of ongoing improvements to enhance the airport experience for travelers.
