Taco Bell fans are in for a treat as the fast-food chain teams up with three emerging chefs to reinvent the beloved Crunchwrap Supreme with bold, global flavors. Drawing from Indian, Thai, and Southwestern cuisines, the new variations aim to bring a fresh twist to the menu staple, which first launched in 2005.
The California-based brand collaborated with chefs Reuben Asaram, Jennifer Hwa Dobbertin, and Lawrence “LT” Smith through the Taco Bell TBX program. Each chef developed a unique version of the Crunchwrap, introducing eight new ingredients inspired by their culinary backgrounds. The revamped wraps include flavors like Indian spices, Thai-inspired noodles, and spicy Southwest-style chicken.
Indian Buffet Crunchwrap Supreme
Chef Reuben Asaram from Philadelphia crafted a version featuring slow-roasted chicken in a creamy tomato curry, combined with Mexican-spiced rice and a refreshing cucumber mint sauce. For those seeking a vegetarian option, the chicken can be swapped out for crispy potato bites.
Thai Twist Crunchwrap Supreme
Chef Jennifer Hwa Dobbertin from San Antonio brought flavors from her heritage, creating a Crunchwrap with grilled chicken coated in khao soi aioli. She added a nest of crunchy wheat noodles and topped it off with avocado basil ranch dressing for a Texas-inspired touch.
Southwest Hot CHX Crunchwrap Supreme
Chef Lawrence “LT” Smith from Phoenix reimagined a classic chicken nugget, coating the crispy protein in salsa macha. He completed the wrap with Oaxacan-style mozzarella, purple cabbage slaw, and a unique apricot hot sauce for a spicy, sweet finish.
Limited Preview in New York City
These special TBX Crunchwraps are available for a limited time in New York City until Thursday, Oct. 17. Taco Bell is using this preview to gather feedback from customers, which will influence future plans for these unique menu items.
For fans outside New York, Taco Bell Rewards Members across the country can still enjoy a personalized Crunchwrap Supreme experience. Through the Taco Bell app, they can add up to $3 worth of free extras to their Crunchwraps for a limited period.
