MullenLowe Mass Launches Creative Campaign to Celebrate KFC‘s Southernmost Location in Punta Arenas, Chile
To mark the opening of KFC’s newest store in Punta Arenas, Chile, MullenLowe Mass—a branch of MullenLowe SSP3 Colombia—designed a unique campaign featuring a massive ice sculpture. Dubbed “The Bucket from the End of the World,” the sculpture was crafted from three tons of ice sourced from the glaciers of Chilean Patagonia.
KFC’s expansion to Punta Arenas marks its presence in the southernmost city on the continent. To ensure the store’s arrival made a lasting impression, the team at MullenLowe Mass decided to create a symbol that would resonate with the region.
They chose an element closely tied to Chilean Patagonia: the crisp, clean ice of its mountains.
The result was a stunning three-ton sculpture shaped like KFC’s iconic bucket, handcrafted by local artisans from the finest Patagonian ice. This creation is now the largest ice-based outdoor advertisement ever displayed in South America.
Positioned at a popular winter destination, the sculpture surprised visitors and effectively boosted KFC’s brand presence in the area.
