Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — Cenomi Retail has made headlines by opening 12 new Subway branches across Saudi Arabia in a single day, setting a world record. This expansion includes 10 locations in Riyadh and 2 in Dammam, featuring a mix of traditional restaurants, non-traditional outlets in corporate offices, and cloud kitchens designed for delivery.
The new stores are strategically located in high-traffic areas to attract customers while supporting the growing demand for food delivery services. Cenomi Retail expects these new restaurants to generate approximately SAR 13 million in annual revenue starting in the fourth quarter of FY24. The investment will also result in an accelerated payback period of less than 2.5 years, which is shorter than the industry average of three years.
Salim Fakhouri, CEO of Cenomi Retail, expressed pride in this achievement. “Successfully opening 12 new Subway branches in one day is an impressive world record,” he said. “This milestone underscores our strategic goal of expanding our food and beverage footprint with top-tier brands.” He emphasized that the dual approach of traditional and cloud kitchen models enhances customer experience and drives sales.
Expanding Subway’s Presence
This expansion is part of Subway’s broader strategy to increase its presence throughout Saudi Arabia. By combining traditional outlets with innovative technology, Subway aims to meet changing consumer preferences, especially the rising demand for online food delivery.
Cenomi Retail and its sub-franchise partners are targeting a total of 50 new food and beverage store openings by the end of the year, having already launched 31 locations. This strategy focuses on partnering with leading brands to improve performance in the food sector for 2024 and beyond.
Conclusion
Cenomi Retail’s record-setting day marks a significant step for Subway in Saudi Arabia. By leveraging both traditional restaurant formats and cloud kitchens, the company is well-positioned to cater to a diverse customer base while enhancing its market presence across the Kingdom.
