KFC is launching a new anime-inspired promotional video in collaboration with the popular online game Genshin Impact.
This unique short will debut in Japan on October 2, 2024, and features Colonel Sanders reimagined in a vibrant, semi-cyberpunk setting. The collaboration aims to excite both anime enthusiasts and fast-food fans.
In the video, a youthful Colonel Sanders, still recognizable with his iconic white hair, wakes up ready for an adventurous day filled with fun and fried chicken. He is depicted getting dressed in his classic attire amidst a backdrop that blends KFC and Genshin Impact themes.
Notable elements include a charm of Paimon, a character from the game, wearing a KFC-themed apron, alongside other familiar visuals from both brands.
The promotion will introduce KFC-themed costumes and accessories within Genshin Impact, specifically for the Japanese version of the game. KFC has gained immense popularity in Japan, where it has become a Christmas tradition. This partnership is not the first between KFC and Genshin Impact; they previously collaborated in 2021. In addition to this new venture, KFC has also teamed up with other franchises such as Spy x Family and celebrated the Attack on Titan finale movie earlier this year.
This trend of fast-food collaborations with gaming franchises is growing globally. Recently, McDonald’s held a similar event tied to Genshin Impact in the United States.
As fans eagerly await the release, this innovative crossover promises to blend culinary delights with the enchanting world of anime gaming.
