ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – A second Chick-fil-A restaurant may soon be coming to Rochester, Minnesota. The popular fast-food chain is planning to hold a neighborhood information meeting on October 15 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Courtyard Marriott located at 161 13th Ave. SW.
The meeting will discuss plans to demolish an existing building and parking lot to make way for the new Chick-fil-A at 300 17th Ave. NW. This site is situated between Olive Garden and Denny’s and was previously home to Wild Bill’s Sports Saloon.
This project is still in the proposal stage. The city of Rochester will not take any action until after the meeting on October 15 and once a site development plan is submitted.
Chick-fil-A, Inc. issued a statement regarding the proposed project, saying, “While we are still early in the process, Chick-fil-A is actively pursuing a new restaurant location in Rochester. Each locally owned and operated restaurant creates 80 to 120 jobs in the area. We hope to have the opportunity to serve new guests delicious food in an environment of genuine hospitality.”
The proposed restaurant would feature a 5,000-square-foot building with 103 parking spaces and a drive-thru, among other utilities.
Chick-fil-A has previously opened three locations in the Rochester area: in Greece, Henrietta, and Irondequoit.
