Canadian fast food chain Tim Hortons has yet to provide a timeline for the opening of its first Bradford location, originally announced almost a year ago.
In September 2023, Tim Hortons received planning approval to build a drive-thru restaurant off Manchester Road. The site, once home to the West Yorkshire Transport Museum in the 80s and 90s, has remained vacant for years. The new branch was expected to create 50 full-time jobs and was projected to open within a year of approval.
However, nearly a year after the plans were greenlit, no construction has started. When asked for an update, a spokesperson for Tim Hortons acknowledged the community’s eagerness but couldn’t provide a clear opening date.
“We’re thrilled by the excitement surrounding this location and understand the community’s anticipation,” the spokesperson said. “Unfortunately, we can’t offer a specific timeline at this point. This year, our focus has been on enhancing our current branches, which has naturally slowed the progress of new openings.”
The delay has left local residents awaiting further updates on when work on the Bradford branch will begin.
