Jollibee Intensifies Rivalry with McDonald’s Through JolliBrews Launch

by Nick

Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) has stepped up its investment in the coffee shop sector by introducing JolliBrews, a new café concept designed to compete directly with McDonald’s McCafé.

The first JolliBrews location has quietly opened in the upscale Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. Unlike Jollibee’s typical fast-food offerings, this café serves specialty coffee, along with a selection of pastries and savory snacks, catering to a more refined crowd.

So far, JFC has not released any official details about the broader rollout of JolliBrews, suggesting that the current branch is part of a test phase for the new concept.

This launch follows JFC’s recent acquisition of the South Korean coffee chain Compose Coffee, adding to its existing coffee ventures, which include the globally recognized Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf brand.

On the other hand, McDonald’s, under the local management of George Yang’s Golden Arches Development Corporation, continues to grow its own café line, McCafé, setting the stage for increased competition between the two fast-food giants in the coffee market.
